Endoume Portrait & Family Photography — Malmousque, Vallon des Auffes
Endoume, Marseille, just ranked #21 coolest neighbourhood in the world (Time Out 2025), is my favourite set for editorial-style portraits and family photo sessions. From Malmousque to Vallon des Auffes, these streets are where Marseille meets the sea. A perfect spot for a professional photoshoot in Marseille.
Endoume offers everything — narrow streets, pastel façades, hidden coves by the sea. Let’s capture your story here with portraits that feel authentic, elegant, and timeless.

Why Choose Endoume for Your Portrait Session
Pastel façades, narrow lanes, and coves that open directly onto the Mediterranean. Endoume offers a mix of intimacy and drama you won’t find anywhere else in Marseille. Perfect for families, couples, or solo portraits.
Beyond the photography, expect the vibe of a trendy Marseille neighbourhood: relaxed cafés and small shops along the Corniche, amazing ice cream spots, and those hidden rocky coves with crystal-clear water right next to the houses. Endoume is becoming more popular with visitors, but it still feels local and intimate — the perfect balance for a photoshoot and a stroll.
Endoume, the Best Spot in Marseille for a Photo Session
Endoume, unique & relaxed, local and intimate
Iconic Backdrops in Endoume
I design my sessions around three micro-locations, each offering a unique feel. Beyond the photos, a shoot in Endoume is also a walk through one of Marseille’s most authentic neighbourhoods. It’s a chance to experience the city differently — the old Marseille by the sea, away from the crowds of Le Panier. Between narrow streets, tiny harbours and sea views, every stop becomes both a discovery and a backdrop.
Malmousque Inlet
Malmousque, a hidden fishing cove with pastel façades, calm waters, and an intimate village feel.
Fausse-Monnaie Cove
A hidden spot with open sea views and clean lines. Perfect for minimal, elegant compositions. I love bringing the couples & family there for natural portraits with the sea as a backdrop.
Vallon des Auffes
Iconic bridge arches, boats bobbing in the water, and golden light at sunset. With a quiet atmosphere, this is Endoume’s postcard — and it photographs beautifully. That is a perfect spot for candid shots.

What to do after a photo session in Endoume?
Endoume isn’t just a beautiful backdrop — it’s also a place to slow down and enjoy Marseille like a local. After your session, here are a few of my favourite stops:
Café Boujou — A chill neighbourhood café, perfect for a morning espresso or a relaxed drink after the shoot.
Loulou — In summer, grab an ice cream by the sea; in winter, switch to a warm crêpe.
Cécile Food Club — A spot for fresh sandwiches and casual bites, ideal for recharging after walking through Malmousque or Vallon des Auffes.
This is the real Endoume vibe: simple pleasures, neighbourhood addresses, and the sea always just a few steps away.

FAQ — Planning Your Endoume Photoshoot
When is the best time to visit Endoume?
Endoume is beautiful all year round. Each season brings its own atmosphere — crisp winter light, gentle spring mornings, or warm autumn afternoons. Unlike Le Panier or other crowded areas, Endoume keeps its authentic charm even in high season. Golden hour (about an hour before sunset) gives the softest light and colours, but daytime sessions also work wonderfully, with natural light and shadows creating space for more creative, artistic portraits.
What should I wear for the photo session?
Dress the way you feel best — beach style, casual, or even suited up. Neutral tones, whites, and light fabrics like linen or cotton blend beautifully with Endoume’s pastel façades and the blue sea. For a more fashion-inspired look, bold outfits such as a flowing dress or a tailored suit also work perfectly.
Is it accessible?
Yes. Endoume is just 10 minutes from the Vieux Port by car, and walkable from the Corniche Kennedy. Parking is available nearby. The neighbourhood has narrow streets and stairs, so I recommend comfortable shoes, but I always adapt the route to families with children, couples, or solo portraits.
